QIAscout enables easy sample isolation in single-cell analysis with inverted ZEISS microscopes
QIAscout from QIAGEN is a novel instrument for isolation of viable single cells from samples to enable cost-efficient, accurate single-cell analysis with next-generation sequencing (NGS) or polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The QIAscout instrument, the size of a hand-held mobile device, adds to QIAGEN’s Sample to Insight portfolio of solutions for single-cell analysis in research fields such as oncology, immunology, neurobiology and stem cell biology.
QIAscout’s proprietary array technology includes a high-density microwell array that can be used to isolate and recover individual cells from a cell suspension. The device serves as an add-on to an inverted microscope, punching out a so-called microraft to hold the single cell of interest selected by a scientist. While QIAscout is compatible with any major brand of inverted microscope, QIAGEN has entered an exclusive commercialization partnership with ZEISS to market the QIAscout as an add-on.

While LCM systems such as the ZEISS PALM MicroBeam or PALM CombiSystem are ideal instruments for the isolation of adherent cells and cellular compartments from tissue, QIAscout is an affordable solution for single cell isolation in suspension that is perfectly designed to fit inverted microscopes by ZEISS.
