Errands – Short by Jason Hernandez shot with the ZEISS Lightweight Zoom LWZ.3

February 7, 2017 ZEISS LENSPIRE Team

The first thing I liked instantly about the ZEISS Lightweight Zoom LWZ.3 21-100 is the weight, that is major when your shooting on the fly, and moving around a lot, without losing the build quality and sturdy feel. For the way I shoot, I sometimes do not have time to switch lenses so having this focal range all in one package helps me knock out more shots, and not miss that (one) shot that counts.

The smooth zoom is awesome, with beautiful transmission the full way though!

The shoot itself was very last minute, actually I had no idea I was going to even shoot anything that day. I had never seen, or used the lens before, I had 5 minutes to set the camera up, and we were off shooting. For the situation and the time frame we had prime lenses would not have worked, we needed something run n gun for quick shooting and this lens performed perfectly. With the way I shoot I find my equipment works best for me when I do not even know it is there. It is working in unison with me so I can move freely and do whatever I need to do. The  ZEISS Lightweight Zoom LWZ.3 21-100 is flexible in that way.

I spent a lot of time handheld crunched in the trunk area of a SUV with not much room, because the lens is smaller it worked great in this scenario. It was great to keep the camera setup built and sitting in my lap, making it easy to jump out of the car and grab a shot then jump back in.

About Jason Hernandez

Jason began shooting skateboarding by accident – literally by an accident when he was 17 years old trying to make it as a professional skateboarder. He was shooting his first skate ad introducing him as the new am for Acme Skateboards. During the shoot he ended up blowing out his ankle. Reconstructive surgery and a year later he could push around but not pursue his dreams of being a pro skater. As he still wanted to be around his friends and the skate scene he hijacked his best friend’s camera to film his other best friend. He feels lucky being able to do what he loves from this day on.
