ZEISS Symposium - Optics in the Digital World
Description: Approximately 200 international experts from science and industry came to Oberkochen, Germany to discuss the main theme of this year's ZEISS Symposium: 'Optics in the Digital World.' Participants grappled with questions like: What role will the future-oriented technologies virtual reality and augmented reality play? What is their relationship to large data? How important will computer vision and machine learning be for industrial development? And what can computational imaging processes achieve? The results of these discussions and other contributions from experts are found on the ZEISS Optics Beyond blog: http://blogs.zeiss.com/optics-beyond/. As a part of the Symposium, the ZEISS Research Award 2016 was presented in the evening to Fedor Jelezko and Jörg Wrachtrup.
